This family captured my heart a few years back when I shot for Janie and Jack clothing store in Southpark, Charlotte NC. Their daughter was an infant and I could not have imagined she could have gotten any more adorable. When they came to the studio I was mesmerized by her stunning beauty. She is a mini version of her gorgeous mother. And the hair, do we even need to mention those curls? Yes the stylist in me squeals at the thought of that hair!!!
Mom made my day when she said she only wanted NicCole Photography to do her maternity photos because of the diversity in my clientele. She said she could see herself in my work and I felt my heart quicken! I simply love people, families, babies and the process of saving these moments in time for all families. That is for sure one thing that unties us all in the fact that we are families that strongly love those on our family tree.
Tiffany’s words have inspired a new project for me. “Diversity in the tones of our skin” Over the next few months I am going to compile images of us as people with different epidermis colors. Be sure and hang around to see what I come up with. I will be sharing this project soon!
In closing I wanna thank her for bringing the diversity of my portfolio to my attention. I just flow along through my daily life shooting and loving all families and never thought about my work as being such a diverse palette.(Hence when you love everyone the differences of ANYTHING fall away and you don’t see them.)
THANK YOU Tiffany for inspiring my next personal project.
“Well, just a day in the shoes of a color blind man
Should make it easy for you to see
That these diverse tones do more than cover our bones
As a part of our anatomy…….we are ALL colored people who depend on a HOLY GRACE “
