I adore this family. The mom has modeled for me several times and keeps me in stitches the entire session! Her children are great examples of her…adorable, beautiful, strong willed and know exactly what they want. We spent some time in the peach orchard in Fort Mill SC late a few evenings ago and enjoyed ourselves.
I had purchased a vintage spinning wheel that I brought along and an old children’s iron and ironing board, I had forgotten I had. You know when you put things away for safe keeping and forget you have them until you start cleaning things out. The spinning wheel and ironing board had a warm welcome from the girls. Personal family items are big for me. They add something nostalgic to a portrait session. I think it also makes it unique to your family. My clients typically tell me on our first consultation “We don’t have anything that was a family members from years past.” This breaks my heart as I am such a sap for old relics from my family. Low and behold…..we get to the session and they will have rummaged Mother’s attic and found beautiful things. What items might you have to use in a family photo session? Maybe there is something your family has handed down like a cookbook….portrait sessions in the kitchen with nanny’s canisters are amazing too! The ideas are limitless.
Thanks “H” for always trusting in my wild ideas!
